Voting will take place during the next general meeting on Thursday, November 5^th, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at the Centerport Fire Department meeting room, located at 9 Park Circle, Centerport, NY.  One vote per membership. Photo ID required.

Dear HBCA Members,

The election will be held during the general meeting on November 5^th, starting at 7:00 p.m. at the Centerport Firehouse. Upon arrival, members may proceed to one of three stations, where ballots will be distributed and membership identification verified. A ballot box will be available; however, we encourage members to remain for the candidate presentations.

As Election Co-Chairs, Peter and I will call the meeting to order, and Board members will be seated in the audience. Each candidate will have up to five (5) minutes to speak. Due to the number of candidates and time constraints, questions will not be taken from the audience. After all candidates have had their time, voting will remain open for another fifteen (15) minutes, after which the ballot box will be closed.

HBCA has retained an independent third-party firm to count all votes. Although state law does not require ballots to remain confidential, many associations follow this practice to maintain trust and protect members from potential political retaliation within the community. Once the count is complete, the election results will be announced. The firm will then transfer the sealed ballots to the Election Co-Chairs for safekeeping by either legal counsel or the Recording Secretary for archival purposes.

Following the conclusion of the election, the President will proceed with the general meeting agenda.
