It is with a great amount of sadness that we announce the passing of our long time HBCA friend and former HBCA President Mr. George Rousseau Sr.
Mr. Rousseau served two terms as Board President from 1960–1961 and again from 1979–1980. Mr. Rousseau and his board were instrumental in carrying out the land purchase of our beloved casino, thereby adding to the overall size and prosperity of our community association. This in addition to the myriad of responsibilities running the beach and being a very important part of what makes HBCA home to us all. Many also knew him as the owner of Rousseau Insurance Agency, which he founded in 1953. To all the adults in the neighborhood he was "George", but to all the young people growing up in the neighborhood, he was Mr. Rousseau. He was a good friend. We will miss him.
Services to be held at Nolan and Taylor from 2–5 p.m. on Tuesday, December 19th and then again from 7–9 p.m. Northport Post #694 American Legion Service 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass 10:00 am Wednesday at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Centerport. Interment to follow with U.S. Navy Military Honors at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Huntington.
